Doune & Deanston Youth Project, Moray Park, Doune
When we last featured this, we were soon to be starting construction, and now here we are – FINISHED ! While the project as a whole took some time to come to fruition, with Planning and Consent, Covid and of course financing to be sourced, we are delighted to say that we started the new build at the end of January 2025, and the Youth group took occupation after completion in November.
The new building has dramatically transformed the accomodation the group used since its inception, with a dramatic design and thermally effecient specification including triple glazed “passive” windows; high insulation; air source heat pump with underfloor heating, a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system plus an array of photovoltaic panels on the roof with battery storage.
The building has proved a great hit with the group, and has caused many a discussion in the village as to its appearance, but how many places like Doune can boast a facility like this !
